• Merci (Bastille, Paris)

Café, library, home ware and clothing store, Merci has Parisians travelling across town to visit.  It is a novel concept.  Designers donate, and 100% of the profits go towards helping disadvantaged children in Madagascar.  We stopped by for a look and a drink in the library room.

We ordered hot chocolates and enjoyed the atmosphere as we warmed ourselves.  They were not too chocolaty but nice and frothy.  Little cubes of syrup orange cake came on the side.

The little café feels quintessentially French with low lighting, tall bookshelves packed full and stylish locals chatting over coffee.

The home wares are beautiful, some especially designed for Merci.

My experience here was very much so one of welcoming to France.  Classically chic.
